The USB flash drive is likely formatted as a FAT32 volume, which limits any one file to 4GB or less. Format the flash drive as NTFS and it will work.

Going the inexpensive way, I would go with at least a 4GB thumb drive after you have already transfered to where ever you`re going to store it, you delete to clear up the space again. Or buy a 1TB external Hard drive this way you don`t have to erase it, you can just leave it right on there. Hope this helps!

Hi THIS IS COMMON PROBLEM WITH WIN XP AND WIN VISTA when transfering or copying files esp above 2 or 4 GB . I`ve simple solution attach pen drive or memory card to ur usb port open Windows Explorer/My Computer ..now right click on the drive letter SELECT OPEN AS "PORTABLE MEDIA DEVICE"..THIS OPENS NEW WINDOW..DRAG AND DROP OR COPY PASTE THE HUGE FILES INTO THIS WINDOW. NO NEED TO FORMAT OR CHANGE PARTITION TYPE!! NOTE THIS IS SLOW AS NOW COPMPUTER WILL TREAT AS PORTABLE DEVICE INSTEAD OF USB Kunal Waghmare kw20@indiatimes.com

I bought a 128GB flash voyager also from Newegg.com for about $300. The usb drive is a little bulky but it makes up for it in it`s overall speed which feels fast for both read and write operations. I know you can also get this usb flash drive from the Dell online store and Pcnation.com so you could try there if you don`t like the Newegg price. You need to shop around there are so many deals on 128GB flash drives now that 256GB models are coming out you could write a book here.

All the brands are pretty much same in case of USB flash drives.Basically the difference may arise in case of storage capacity such as 2GB 4 GB 16 GB etc.also depends on the type of flash memory used by them NOR or NAND.there are also differences in case of read and write speeds the read speed may be from 6 to 35 while the write speed is from 3 to 30 MB/s Tod Corner

Format your Flash Drive and change the file system to exFAT using WIN7 or XP. I have tried it cause I have the same problem and now my 8gb Transcend flash drive is saving the file with size more than 4.7gb (MKV files). lui...cheers

It depends upon the size of the data that you want to save in the flash drive. Normally a flash drive have many storage options in the flash drives. Which are as follow. 1). 256mb. 2). 512mb. 3). 1024mb. 4). 2gb. 5). 4gb. 6). 8gb. 7). 16gb. 8). 32gb. 9). 64gb. these are some of the storage that a flash drives offers. and the price also depends upon the size of the flash drive.
