which is higher than the national average,
and some local counties have an unemployment rate at 14%
As with low wages and high unemployment there is crime,
and there are areas of Central Florida that have VERY high crime rates.
Cost of living can be cheaper than the north,
but we have very high house insurance,
and medical insurance is higher in Florida.
There are some insurance companies that will not insure here in Florida due to the risks involved...hurricanes,
You can find inexpensive houses here in Central Florida.
Since so many have been foreclosed on there are bargains but they will need some fixing.
Taxes are very high here and are going up yearly.
Our school system,
for all the counties,
is one of the worse in the nation.
