a similar situation in georgia...
the building our condo is in is near a creek bank that failed in 2009 flooding.
the damage to the unit itself is not beyond repair,
and the insurance company paid out the funds necessary for those repairs.
the city will not issue building permits for the units in this building as it is now too close to the creek bank and violates some watershed management regulation,
and the property management company and the board of directors won`t release any of the insurance proceeds to the owners of these units,
saying that without permits we can`t repair anyway.
we think its probable that the proceeds intended for our units were used for something else,
and there isn`t any insurance money left.
is there a way we can determine if this is so,
and if it is,
what can be done to correct this situation?
